Bond Measure S: District Aiming to Bring Aquatics Facility to McFarland

As of 11/25/2024, Bond Measure S failed by 6.64%. The measure would have paid for a new aquatics facility. Although the measure received over 70% approval in pre-election surveys, it is currently at 60.6% (needed 66.7%). The measure had the support of the McFarland Unified School District but did not have consensus from the council members of the City of McFarland to garner their support.

Thank you to the Yes on S committee for their work and support. We would not have eclipsed the 60% mark without their help. Our Board of Directors is now considering options, including taking the measure to the voters again or  constructing a Splash Pad instead (9-10 times less cost). If you have any questions or concerns, please contact District Manager Jeff Nickell at 661-792-3187 of jnickell@mcfarlandrpd.com.
